Over time, this exposed metal will oxidize and develop a rich patina; depending on your environment, it may even take on a greenish hue (verdigris). Each pair will age uniquely, reflecting the specific way it has been used.

The "Raw" version, which features untreated brass side plates, will also develop a patina through regular use. You can choose to let it age naturally, or polish it up whenever you like to restore its original, brilliant luster.

[Article by Circles on Brass Pedals]

The Sylvan Touring features the largest platform in the Sylvan series, with wide side plates that make it easy to adjust your foot position. The side plates incorporate raised sections of varying heights, which help maintain stable pedaling and reduce fatigue during long rides. Designed for use from either side, these pedals are highly versatile and compatible with toe clips and straps—making them a classic, ideal choice for touring bikes such as randonneurs and sportifs.

The aluminum body is built around a hand-adjusted cup-and-cone bearing system, ensuring both durability and smooth rotation.
