Chips Bag created by Welldone of Nagoya, a bag designer and craftsman, based on his own experience he has cultivated a lifetime of cycling, hiking and traveling. Have you ever been stressed by your head or helmet hitting your bag when you're riding a bike while using a hiking backpack? Also, with a roll-top bag, do you often find it difficult to access luggage in the bottom of the bag? This 'Chips Bag' is unique to Welldone, which addresses the frustrations that occur with typical hiking backpacks, arrived at after many prototype bags had been produced. Hiking, light camping trips, attending festivals and even cyclotouring are environments where the 'Chips Bag' is at home ... It can be used comfortably and offers a wide range of features and conveniences that are relevant for people leading active lifestyles who have a variety pursuits.

Opening and closing mechanism inspired by the "party opening" of potato chips

The basic structure is a "roll top type" backpack that wraps the above fabric and buckles opposite ends to seal the bag; but the feature of this Chips Bag is that it is arranged vertically on the surface of the bag like a potato chips bag. It is possible to access the inside directly with a waterproof zipper, without unrolling the bag.  With this mechanism, you can directly access the luggage inside without opening the roll top, or when used in combination with the roll top, you can access the inside of the pack to an extent not offered by typical backpacks. Even if you're hasty in packing your bag, or need to access an article quickly, the 'Chips Bag' makes it simple to find what you're looking for.

Roll top 2way structure

'Chips Bag' can secure the roll top in two ways. When carrying a larger capacity load, you can roll it up, or when you want to ride a bike or have more space behind your head, you can clip the buckles to webbing on the tops of the shoulder straps. Either option provides a stable and secure way to close the bag.

Convenient mesh pocket and drawcord

If you carry a water bottle or small items you want easily accessible, you can store them in the mesh pockets on the back and sides of the pack. These items can be separately stowed and secured while you are in the mesh pockets on the side and back, you can take it out quickly and conveniently. In addition, the drawcord on the side panel can be used to keep both hands free by inserting a trekking pole or umbrella, or by rolling a layer of clothing that you'd like quick access to.

Large pocket on shoulder harness

The shoulder harness has large pockets on both sides. It is a backpack detail unique to Welldone that you might also find on a messenger style bags. It's a great spot to stow a phone, an energy bar, or any other accessory you might want to keep close at hand.
