The Kujira "whale" Knives are hand forged multi-purpose utility knives with a high carbon white steel inner core, and a "kurouchi" black-forged finish and handle. Their playful and imaginative whale shaped bodies and their durable edge-retentive blades are sure to make these knives a functional, conversation piece in your daily life.
The Kujira knives are originally designed for children to sharpen their pencils. Good for both right and left handed. It's perfect for camping, and can whittle small objects like sharpening your pencils. From slicing off a hunk of cheese to paring fruit at a picnic to handling small tasks in the kitchen, the Kujira Knife is a useful knife to have on hand.

History:
Yoshihiro Cutlery has specialized in handcrafted premium Japanese kitchen knives. for over 100 years. The origins of the techniques used to create Yoshihiro knives dates back to the 14th century medieval Japan, when blacksmiths who perfected the technique of handling fire, iron, and water started making swords.

Care Instructions:
Carbon steel knives are not stainless so they are not rust proof. Please make sure the knives are not immersed in water or left wet for any period of time. Please keep dry to prevent rust and apply a light coat of oil occasionally.
